About the Speaker:

Jerome C. Foss is Professor of Politics at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, where he also serves as the Endowed Director for the Saint Vincent Center for Catholic Thought and Culture and a Fellow in the college’s Center for Political and Economic Thought. Foss teaches courses in American political thought, Catholic political thought, political philosophy, and literature and politics. He was recognized in 2021 with Saint Vincent’s prestigious Thorburn Award for Teaching Excellence. As Director of the Center for Catholic Thought and Culture, Foss directs a Rome program, edits an inhouse journal entitled Conversatio, directs an interdisciplinary minor in Sanctity of Life, leads reading groups, and hosts several academic events. His publications include several articles and two books, most recently Flannery O’Connor and the Perils of Governing by Tenderness.  Foss serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Catholic Social Scientists. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Dallas and his doctorate from Baylor University. He resides in Latrobe with his wife and eight children.
