A Weekend Intellectual Retreat
The Universal Doctor of the Church said that he learned more in prayer before a crucifix than he did in all his work of scholastic inquiry. The theology of St. Thomas Aquinas receives its vitality, depth, and eloquence from the fact that St. Thomas was a man of deep, intense prayer. This intellectual retreat reflects upon the role of prayer in the thought of St. Thomas and the place that prayer holds, more broadly, in a Thomistic vision of reality.
The retreat will have seminars and discussions framed by the traditional elements of a retreat (Mass, adoration, Divine Office, etc.). The event is primarily for the leaders of Thomistic Institute student chapters, but is open to other students and young adults who express interest.
